St. Edward and St. Eloi Religious Education Program Updates (CCD)

Update 11-5-2018
I wanted to let the families of youth grades 9-12 know that you are invited to attend the RACE Sunday this Sunday, Nov 11th starting at 5p with Mass.
RACE stands for Relationship, Adoration, Catholic, Evangelization and is offered to us through the Holy Redeemer Church in Marshall. Once a month (on certain months), a wonderful speaker is brought in and we, as Catholics, are invited to join in for an opportunity to deepen our faith, along with our young adult teenagers.
This one is an optional event, but starting in 2019, we will make the event mandatory for Confirmation students. We are hoping that you will take this opportunity to take advantage of Holy Redeemer's offer to join in as they bring in well-known speakers.

***Our 1st grade RE class is in immediate need of a VIRTUS-trained catechist! We have decided that we need to split the class, that is now up to 26 children, so that we can offer them and their teachers the best opportunity to learn and teach their lessons efficiently, which is currently difficult with so many. There will be an assistant to help as well. Please contact me if you would be willing to help out.

VIRTUS trainings - If you are planning on chaperoning, volunteering or teaching for the church or school, you will need to complete a training. This class is also provides you wonderful information as a parent/caregiver on how to protect your children in regards to sexual abuse.

- St. Edward/St. Eloi Religious Ed (CCD) - Classes started last week, but registration & payment can still be done online by visiting AFC website, www.goodteacherafc.com or either parish website.
- We are always looking for a few more VIRTUS-trained assistants and catechists to add to our list of substitutes.
- This week will be the first of the bi-monthly newsletter for F.I.R.E. (Families Involved in Religious Education.) It will be just a part of what we hope to accomplish to give our families the tools to bring our Catholic faith into their everyday lives & celebrate our Church. If you would like to help with FIRE events, please contact me.
